Joe Gunson (Joseph Brook Gunson) was born on March 23, 1863 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on June 14, 1884 for the Washington Nationals. In 1884, his rookie year, he hit .139 with 0 home runs and 0 RBI. Gunson played for the Washington Nationals, Kansas City Cowboys, Baltimore Orioles, St. Louis Perfectos and Cleveland Spiders over the course of his 4 year career.
