Joe Grace (Joseph LaVerne Grace) was born on January 5, 1914 in Gorham, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on September 24, 1938 for the St. Louis Browns. In 1939, his rookie year, he hit .304 with 3 home runs and 22 RBI. Grace played for the St. Louis Browns and Washington Senators over the course of his 6 year career.
Most people believe that Joe Grace's best season was 1946, when he hit for a .278 average.
