Joe Gordon (Joseph Lowell Gordon) was born on February 18, 1915 in Los Angeles, California. He made his Major League debut on April 18, 1938 for the New York Yankees. In 1938, his rookie year, he hit .255 with 25 home runs and 97 RBI. Gordon played for the New York Yankees and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 11 year career.
Most people believe that Joe Gordon's best season was 1940, when he slugged 30 home runs, hit for a .281 average and knocked in 103 runs.
