Joe Girardi (Joseph Elliott Girardi) was born on October 14, 1964 in Peoria, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on April 4, 1989 for the Chicago Cubs. In 1989, his rookie year, he hit .248 with 1 home run and 14 RBI. Girardi played for the Chicago Cubs, Colorado Rockies, New York Yankees and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 15 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Joe Girardi's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1995, when he knocked in 55 runs. However, others believe that it was 1996, when he hit for a .294 average.
