Joe Gilliam (Joe W. Gilliam, Jr.) was born on December 29, 1950 in Charleston, West Virginia. After going to high school at Pearl (Nashville, TN), Gilliam attended Tennessee State University. Gilliam made his professional debut in the NFL in 1972 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers for his entire 4 year career.
Most people believe that 1974 was Joe Gilliam's best year.
