Born on October 7, 1898 in Ware, Massachusetts, Joe Giard (Joseph Oscar Giard) played for the St. Louis Browns and New York Yankees over the course of his 3 year career. Giard broke into the bigs on April 18, 1925 with the St. Louis Browns, and put up a 5.04 ERA in 160.2 innings pitched in 1925, his rookie year.
