Joe Fortunato (Joseph Francis Fortunato) was born on March 28, 1930 in Mingo Junction, Ohio. After going to high school at Mingo Junction (OH), Fortunato attended Mississippi State University and Virginia Military Institute. Fortunato made his professional debut in the NFL in 1955 with the Chicago Bears. He played for the Chicago Bears for his entire 12 year career.
Most people believe that 1956 was Joe Fortunato's best year, as he ran back an interception for a touchdown.
