Joe Evans (Joseph Patton Evans) was born on May 15, 1895 in Meridan, Mississippi. He made his Major League debut on July 3, 1915 for the Cleveland Indians. In 1917, his rookie year, he hit .190 with 2 home runs and 33 RBI. Evans played for the Cleveland Indians, Washington Senators and St. Louis Browns over the course of his 11 year career.
