Born on March 9, 1897 in Bow, Washington, Joe Dawson (Ralph Fenton Dawson) played for the Cleveland Indians and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 4 year career. Dawson broke into the bigs on July 4, 1924 with the Cleveland Indians, and put up a 4.46 ERA in 80.2 innings pitched in 1927, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Joe Dawson's best season was 1928, when he posted a 3.29 ERA.
