Joe Dawkins (Joseph Dawkins, III) was born on January 27, 1948 in Los Angeles, California. After going to high school at John C. Fremont (Los Angeles, CA), Dawkins attended Los Angeles City College and the University of Wisconsin. Dawkins made his professional debut in the NFL in 1970 with the Houston Oilers. He played for the Houston Oilers, New York Giants and Denver Broncos over the course of his 7 year career.
Most people believe that 1974 was Joe Dawkins's best year, as he ran for 561 yards and hauled in 46 receptions.
