Born on December 4, 1875 in San Francisco, California, Joe Corbett (Joseph Aloysius Corbett) played for the Washington Senators, Baltimore Orioles and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 4 year career. Corbett broke into the bigs on August 23, 1895 with the Washington Senators, and put up a 3.11 ERA in 313 innings pitched in 1897, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Joe Corbett's best season was 1897, when he posted a 3.11 ERA, won 24 games and struck out 149 batters.
