Born on June 28, 1907 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Joe Cascarella (Joseph Thomas Cascarella) played for the Philadelphia Athletics, Boston Red Sox, Washington Senators and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 5 year career. Cascarella broke into the bigs on April 17, 1934 with the Philadelphia Athletics, and put up a 4.68 ERA in 194.1 innings pitched in 1934, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Joe Cascarella's best season was 1934, when he posted a 4.68 ERA, won 12 games and struck out 71 batters.
