Joe Braney (Joseph Peter Breheney) was born on August 19, 1892 in Ireland. After going to high school at Dean Academy (Franklin, MA), Braney attended Fordham University and Syracuse University. Braney made his professional debut in the NFL in 1925 with the Providence Steam Roller. He played for the Providence Steam Roller for his entire 2 year career.
