Joe Boley (John Peter Boley) was born on July 19, 1896 in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on April 12, 1927 for the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1927, his rookie year, he hit .311 with 1 home run and 52 RBI. Boley played for the Philadelphia Athletics and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 6 year career.
Most people believe that Joe Boley's best season was 1927, when he hit for a .311 average and knocked in 52 runs.
