Born on December 11, 1980 in Bowling Green, Kentucky, Joe Blanton (Joseph Matthew Blanton) played for the Oakland Athletics for his entire 3 year career. Blanton broke into the bigs on September 21, 2004 with the Oakland Athletics, and put up a 3.53 ERA in 201.1 innings pitched in 2005, his rookie year.
