Born on April 19, 1977 in St. Mary's, Pennsylvania, Joe Beimel (Joseph Ronald Beimel) played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Minnesota Twins, Tampa Bay Devil Rays and Los Angeles Dodgers over the course of his 6 year career. Beimel broke into the bigs on April 8, 2001 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and put up a 5.23 ERA in 115.1 innings pitched in 2001, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Joe Beimel's best season was 2006, when he posted a 2.96 ERA.
