Born on January 28, 1955 in Auburn, Alabama, Joe Beckwith (Thomas Joseph Beckwith) played for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Kansas City Royals over the course of his 7 year career. Beckwith broke into the bigs on July 21, 1979 with the Los Angeles Dodgers, and put up a 1.96 ERA in 59.2 innings pitched in 1980, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Joe Beckwith's best season was 1984, when he posted a 3.40 ERA and struck out 75 batters.
