Jocko Milligan (John Milligan) was born on August 8, 1861 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on May 1, 1884 for the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1884, his rookie year, he hit .287 with 3 home runs and 0 RBI. Milligan played for the Philadelphia Athletics, St. Louis Browns, Washington Senators, New York Giants and Baltimore Orioles over the course of his 10 year career.

Most people believe that Jocko Milligan's best season was 1891, when he hit for a .303 average and knocked in 106 runs.
