Jimmy Welsh (James Daniel Welsh) was born on October 9, 1902 in Denver, Colorado. He made his Major League debut on April 14, 1925 for the Boston Braves. In 1925, his rookie year, he hit .312 with 7 home runs and 63 RBI. Welsh played for the Boston Braves and New York Giants over the course of his 6 year career.
There is some disagreement on what was Jimmy Welsh's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1927, when he hit for a .288 average and knocked in 54 runs. However, others believe that it was 1925, when he hit for a .312 average and knocked in 63 runs.
