Jimmy Simpson (James Felix Simpson) was born on October 6, 1897 in , OH. After going to high school at Morrison R. Waite (Toledo, OH), Simpson attended the University of Detroit Mercy. Simpson made his professional debut in the NFL in 1922 with the Toledo Maroons. He played for the Kenosha Maroons and Toledo Maroons over the course of his 2 year career.
