Born on April 22, 1961 in Huntsville, Alabama, Jimmy Key (James Edward Key) played for the Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles over the course of his 15 year career. Key broke into the bigs on April 6, 1984 with the Toronto Blue Jays, and put up a 4.65 ERA in 62 innings pitched in 1984, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Jimmy Key's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1993, when he posted a 3.00 ERA, won 18 games and struck out 173 batters. However, others believe that it was 1987, when he posted a 2.76 ERA, won 17 games and struck out 161 batters.
