Jimmy Burson (James Oertell Burson) was born on October 13, 1940 in LaGrange, Georgia. After going to high school at La Grange (GA), Burson attended Auburn University. Burson made his professional debut in the NFL in 1963 with the St. Louis Cardinals. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals and Atlanta Falcons over the course of his 6 year career.

Most people believe that 1968 was Jimmy Burson's best year, as he picked off 4 passes and ran back an interception for a touchdown.
