Jimmy Burke (James Timothy Burke) was born on October 12, 1874 in St. Louis, Missouri. He made his Major League debut on October 6, 1898 for the Cleveland Spiders. In 1901, his rookie year, he hit .228 with 0 home runs and 47 RBI. Burke played for the Cleveland Spiders, St. Louis Perfectos, Pittsburgh Pirates, Milwaukee Brewers, Chicago White Sox and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 7 year career.

Most people believe that Jimmy Burke's best season was 1903, when he stole 28 bases and hit for a .285 average.
