Jimmy Bloodworth (James Henry Bloodworth) was born on July 26, 1917 in Tallahassee, Florida. He made his Major League debut on September 14, 1937 for the Washington Senators. In 1939, his rookie year, he hit .289 with 4 home runs and 40 RBI. Bloodworth played for the Washington Senators, Detroit Tigers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Cincinnati Reds and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 11 year career.

Most people believe that Jimmy Bloodworth's best season was 1942, when he knocked in 57 runs.
