Jimmy Barrett

Jimmy Barrett (James Erigena Barrett) was born on March 28, 1875 in Athol, Massachusetts. He made his Major League debut on September 13, 1899 for the Cincinnati Reds. In 1900, his rookie year, he hit .316 with 5 home runs and 42 RBI. Barrett played for the Cincinnati Reds, Detroit Tigers, Boston Americans and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 10 year career.
There is some disagreement on what was Jimmy Barrett's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1901, when he stole 26 bases, hit for a .293 average and knocked in 65 runs. However, others believe that it was 1900, when he stole 44 bases and hit for a .316 average.
