Jimmy Anderson (born January 22, 1976 in Portsmouth, Virginia) is a starting pitcher who plays for the Florida Marlins organization. From 1999 through 2004, Anderson has played for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1999-2002), Cincinnati Reds (2003), Chicago Cubs (2004[start]) and Boston Red Sox (2004[end]). He bats and throws left handed.

In a six-season major league career, Anderson has posted a 25-47 record with 241 strikeouts and a 4.42 ERA in 574 2/3 innings pitched.

Most people believe that Jimmy Anderson's best season was 2001, when he struck out 89 batters.
