Jim Vellone (James Carl Vellone) was born on August 20, 1944 in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. After going to high school at California (Whittier, CA), Vellone attended Cerritos JC and the University of Southern California. Vellone made his professional debut in the NFL in 1966 with the Minnesota Vikings. He played for the Minnesota Vikings for his entire 5 year career.
