Jim Thompson (James L. Thompson) was born on December 4, 1940 in Peoria, Illinois. After going to high school at Peoria (IL), Thompson attended Southern Illinois University. Thompson made his professional debut in the AFL in 1965 with the Denver Broncos. He played for the Denver Broncos for his entire 1 year career.
