Jim Steels (James Earl Steels) was born on May 30, 1961 in Jackson, Mississippi. He made his Major League debut on April 6, 1987 for the San Diego Padres. Steels played for the San Diego Padres, Texas Rangers and San Francisco Giants over the course of his 3 year career.
