Jim Sivell (James Ralph Sivell) was born on March 12, 1914 in Chipley, Georgia. After going to high school at Chipley (GA), Sivell attended Auburn University. Sivell made his professional debut in the NFL in 1938 with the Brooklyn Dodgers. He played in the NFL for 7 years, playing for the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants over the course of his 7 year NFL career.Sivell also played in the AAFC for 1 year, playing for the Miami Seahawks the entire time.

Most people believe that 1945 was Jim Sivell's best year.
