Jim Simon (James E. Simon) was born on March 22, 1940 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Scott Township (PA), Simon attended the University of Miami. Simon made his professional debut in the NFL in 1963 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions over the course of his 6 year career.
