Jim Shorter (James Shorter) was born on June 8, 1938 in Montgomery, Alabama. After going to high school at Central (Pontiac, MI), Shorter attended the University of Detroit Mercy. Shorter made his professional debut in the NFL in 1962 with the Cleveland Browns. He played for the Washington Redskins, Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers over the course of his 7 year career.

Most people believe that 1966 was Jim Shorter's best year, as he picked off 5 passes.
