Jim Schmedding (James Edward Schmedding) was born on February 10, 1946 in San Diego, California. After going to high school at Granada Hills (CA), Schmedding attended the College of San Mateo and Weber State University. Schmedding made his professional debut in the AFL in 1968 with the San Diego Chargers. He played in the AFL for 2 years, playing for the San Diego Chargers the entire time. Schmedding also played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the San Diego Chargers the entire time.
