Jim Sanford (James Leo Sanford) was born on December 25, 1898 in Brooklyn, New York. After going to high school at Mercersburg Academy (Mercerburg, PA), Sanford attended Lehigh University. Sanford made his professional debut in the NFL in 1924 with the Duluth Kelleys. He played for the Duluth Kelleys for his entire 1 year career.
