Jim Rivera (Manuel Joseph Rivera) was born on July 22, 1922 in New York, New York. He made his Major League debut on April 15, 1952 for the St. Louis Browns. In 1952, his rookie year, he hit .253 with 7 home runs and 48 RBI. Rivera played for the St. Louis Browns, Chicago White Sox and Kansas City Athletics over the course of his 10 year career.

Most people believe that Jim Rivera's best season was 1953, when he knocked in 78 runs.
