Born on January 10, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois, Jim O'Toole (James Jerome O'Toole) played for the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 10 year career. O'Toole broke into the bigs on September 26, 1958 with the Cincinnati Reds, and put up a 5.15 ERA in 129.1 innings pitched in 1959, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Jim O'Toole's best season was 1961, when he posted a 3.10 ERA, won 19 games and struck out 178 batters.
