Jim Merritts (James Clystis Merritts) was born on March 22, 1961 in Roaring Springs, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Hollidaysburg (PA), Merritts attended the University of Connecticut and West Virginia University. Merritts made his professional debut in the NFL in 1987 with the Indianapolis Colts. He played for the Indianapolis Colts for his entire 1 year career.
