Jim Mello

Jim Mello (James Anthony Mello) was born on November 8, 1920 in Warwick, Rhode Island. After going to high school at West Warwick (RI), Mello attended the University of Notre Dame. Mello made his professional debut in the NFL in 1947 with the Boston Yanks. He played for the Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Rams and Boston Yanks over the course of his 4 year career.
Most people believe that 1949 was Jim Mello's best year, as he picked off 3 passes.
