Jim McTamany (James Edward McTamany) was born on July 1, 1863 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on August 15, 1885 for the Brooklyn Trolley Dodgers. In 1885, his rookie year, he hit .275 with 1 home run and 13 RBI. McTamany played for the Brooklyn Trolley Dodgers, Kansas City Cowboys, Columbus Colts and Philadelphia Athletics over the course of his 7 year career.

Most people believe that Jim McTamany's best season was 1887, when he stole 66 bases and knocked in 68 runs.
