Candidate Commercial#1
Synopsis - A very oiled (and body shaved?) Jim McMahon exhibits his tremendous hand-eye coordinations skills while pitching a toy gun product. Extra props for the safety googles placed over McMahon's trademark shades. Perhaps this commercial inspired Don Simpson in a classic 80s coke moment to convince his buddy Jerry Bruckheimer to produce Top Gun as the most inherently (un)intentionally homoerotic movie of all-time.
Candidate Commercial#2
Synopsis - Only the Coca-Cola Company could take two charismatic personalities such as McMahon and William Perry and ruin the moment with a boring commercial script. Wow, what an incredible sense of humor (cough, cough) to have The Fridge order a case of Coke (code for a kilo of yayo perhaps?). Hah, hah, hah. Of historical interest to those that actually care about this diabetic inducing, teeth rotting soft drink, check out the rather smallish size of the cans along with "Coke" (which everybody universally hated at the time) and "Coke Classic".
Candidate Commercial#3
Synopsis: Where to begin? It appears that Honda hired John Hughes to direct this very 80s in the moment commercial to dress McMahon up in garb that even Ari Gold's assistant would deem offensively over the top gay. Simply put, what the hell is up with the muscle flex pose? At some point during the shoot, McMahon must have realized that this was all very weird (even to him) and perhaps walked off the set in disgust which may account for the second half of this segment to be played in reverse. Honda refused to comment if McMahon rode that scooter while hammered.
Well, the rest is up to you fellow Armchair posters. Which is the best of the worst of this lot? And thank God that 1980s revivalism movements have remained virtually non-existant.
