Jim Marshall (Rufus James Marshall) was born on May 25, 1931 in Danville, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on April 15, 1958 for the Chicago Cubs. In 1958, his rookie year, he hit .232 with 10 home runs and 30 RBI. Marshall played for the Chicago Cubs, Baltimore Orioles, San Francisco Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Mets over the course of his 5 year career.
