Jim Maples (James Harold Maples) was born on January 28, 1941 in Mount Vernon, Texas. After going to high school at Mount Vernon (TX), Maples attended Baylor University. Maples made his professional debut in the NFL in 1963 with the Baltimore Colts. He played for the Baltimore Colts for his entire 1 year career.
