Jim Leyland Doesn't Know How to Run a Computer

The MLB All-Star rosters have been announced, and only two (possibly three, more on that later) Detroit Tigers will be in the dugout. That's right, the team with the best record in the league boasts a whopping two players. Kenny Rogers and Ivan Rodriguez (a starter) are the pair. Normally we wouldn't complain, but their division nemesis, Chicago White Sox, have six players on the roster.
Several Tigers said this weekend that five or six of them were worthy of selection. On Sunday, though, they offered little open criticism of the AL roster, which included three White Sox among the eight players added by Chicago manager Ozzie Guillen. Chicago has six All-Stars. Detroit, which has baseball's best record, will have no more than three.
According to the Detroit Free Press http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2006607030325, rookie pitcher Justin Verlander could possibly earn a spot. All he has to do is convince everyone he knows to vote for him online. The voting is between Verlander, pitcher Francisco Liriano, catchers Ramon Hernandez and A.J. Pierzynski, and Travis Hafner. Verlander's 10-4 record is damn good for a rookie, and the 3.13 ERA isn't that bad either.
On the other side of the story, Tigers' manager Jim Leyland doesn't like technology.
Meanwhile, Leyland, who has professed his distaste for computers, suggested he might need a tutorial from his teenage son. "I'll have Patrick load it up," Leyland said.
Pudge Rodriguez thinks this is hilarious:
"Another thing to tell my kids when I retire," Rodriguez said.
