Jim King (James Hubert King) was born on August 27, 1932 in Elkins, Arkansas. He made his Major League debut on April 17, 1955 for the Chicago Cubs. In 1955, his rookie year, he hit .256 with 11 home runs and 45 RBI. King played for the Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants, Washington Senators, Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 11 year career.

Most people believe that Jim King's best season was 1963, when he slugged 24 home runs and knocked in 62 runs.
