Jim Johns (James Edward Johns) was born on February 22, 1900. After going to high school at Central (Lansing, MI), Johns attended Michigan State University and the University of Michigan. Johns made his professional debut in the NFL in 1923 with the Cleveland Indians. He played for the Minneapolis Marines and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 2 year career.
