Jim Irwin (James C. Irwin) was born on March 9, 1897 in Louisville, Kentucky. After going to high school at Anchorage (KY), Irwin attended none. Irwin made his professional debut in the APFA in 1921 with the Louisville Brecks. He played in the APFA for 1 year, playing for the Louisville Brecks the entire time. Irwin also played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the Louisville Brecks the entire time.
