Jim Hughey

Born on March 8, 1869 in Wakeshma, Michigan, Jim Hughey (James Ulysses Hughey) played for the Milwaukee Brewers, Chicago Colts, Pittsburgh Pirates, St. Louis Perfectos, Cleveland Spiders and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 7 year career. Hughey broke into the bigs on September 29, 1891 with the Milwaukee Brewers, and put up a 4.99 ERA in 155 innings pitched in 1896, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Jim Hughey's best season was 1898, when he posted a 3.93 ERA and struck out 74 batters.
