Jim Griffin (James Bauman Griffin) was born on December 18, 1939 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. After going to high school at W.O. Boston (Lake Charles, LA), Griffin attended Grambling State University. Griffin made his professional debut in the AFL in 1966 with the San Diego Chargers. He played for the San Diego Chargers and Cincinnati Bengals over the course of his 3 year career.

Most people believe that 1968 was Jim Griffin's best year, as he ran back a fumble for a touchdown.
