Jim Goolsby (James Earl Goolsby) was born on July 25, 1917 in Columbus, Mississippi. After going to high school at Steven D. Lee (Columbus, MS), Goolsby attended Mississippi State University. Goolsby made his professional debut in the NFL in 1940 with the Cleveland Rams. He played for the Cleveland Rams for his entire 1 year career.
