Jim Gleeson (James Joseph Gleeson) was born on March 5, 1912 in Kansas City, Missouri. He made his Major League debut on April 25, 1936 for the Cleveland Indians. In 1936, his rookie year, he hit .259 with 4 home runs and 12 RBI. Gleeson played for the Cleveland Indians, Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 5 year career.
Most people believe that Jim Gleeson's best season was 1940, when he hit for a .313 average and knocked in 61 runs.
